NOTES from the PRESIDENT
Rick Perry
12/19/09 - I have spoken with Joe Pate of the Sportsman Show. He and Harold is giving us a space at the
upcoming Sportsman Show in February at no cost. The size of the display isn't known just yet, but we will need a couple
of cars on standby to display in the exhibit. If interested, please contact me at info@douglascountyspeedwayonline.com.
12/16/09 - Now that an agreement has been signed with the fairgrounds, the schedule will be released very soon.
Stay tuned here for details. Rules will also be released very soon....target date of January 1, 2010 for rules release.
During the board meeting last night, the board made changes to the hornet claim rule. It will be a competitor claim
of $500 with stipulations being required so that not just any hornet driver may claim a car. Details will be posted
in the hornet rules.
Also, the board has decided to NOT make any tire change this year in the mini stock class. However......in 2011,
the mini stock class WILL run the short track specials, so please start budgeting and planning your expenses now so that you
aren't hit with alot of cost before the 2011 season.
PRA will sell new transponders at a price of $295. If you're interested, please contact Gary Perry to be placed
on the list. To contact Gary, please click here.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL THIS HOLIDAY SEASON!!!!
12/6/09 - Myself and two other board members, Bobby Wright and Johnny Doyle attended the Race Promoter's Monthly Workshops
in Reno, NV. There were three days of workshops exchanging lots of ideas on how to improve our programs and our way
of promoting. It was an invaluable experience and the three of us learned so much!
11/21/09 - PRA attended the Western Auto Racing Promoters Association annual meeting and conference in Lynnwood, Washington
on November 20th & 21st. It was very productive and talks convened with NSRA/ASA NW Sprint Cars, ASA NorthWest Late
Model Tour, Outlaw Compact Mini Stocks, and West Coast Vintage Racers. The board has approved two dates for NSRA, one
date for the ASA Northwest Late Model Tour, West Coast Vintage Racers, and the Outlaw Compact Mini's.
The board has also approved the use of a transponder system to be used in 2010 as well. The transponders will be
required for all classes except the J-cars and Hornets. OTRO will have the option to use them if they choose to do so.
Watch for PRA at the Racing Promotion Monthy's workshop in Reno, Nevada from December 2nd thru December 6th.
